Associate of Applied Science Degree
An associate of applied science degree is awarded to students who complete the general requirements listed below, along with the technical curricula requirements as outlined in the Technical Programs section of the Catalog.
- Meet entrance requirements for unconditional admission.
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (C average) on all college-level course work attempted at San Jacinto College. The Graduation GPA is displayed on the CAPP Graduation Check.
- Meet the provisions as described in the section titled Transfer of Credit when transfer credit is to be applied toward a degree.
- Have 24 semester hours of college-level credit earned at San Jacinto College.
- Have two semester hours of physical education activity courses, unless exemption is permitted. (See Physical Education in the Course Descriptions section for more information.) Students who qualify for exemption from physical education activity courses and who do not have at least 62 semester hours of college-level credit must complete such courses or substitute other courses of at least equal credit value if they wish to receive a degree.
- Make formal application for graduation at the Registrar's Office. (See Calendar for deadline dates and also the procedures listed in the introduction of this Awarding of Degrees and Certificates section).
- Demonstrate basic skill in the use of computers.*
