Men of Honor clothing drive kicks off April 14

The San Jacinto College Men of Honor program is hosting a clothing drive this month with drop-off locations at each campus.

Women, men, and children’s clothing and shoes will be accepted. This college-wide initiative will run from April 14 to 17. Donations will be accepted at the Central Campus Student Center, C-14 room 210, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 14 to 16, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on April 17. Anyone who would like to donate clothing at the North Campus may drop off donations in the Student Life office on April 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Anyone who would like to donate clothing at the South Campus may drop off donations on April 10 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Student Life office and on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Educational Planning and Counseling, S6 room 121.

The Central Campus is located at 8060 Spencer Highway in Pasadena; North Campus is located at 5800 Uvalde Road in Houston; and South Campus is located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston.

The Men of Honor program at San Jacinto College serves to increase the retention, graduation, and transfer rates among African-American male students through mentorship. Activities include regular meetings, guest speaker forums, community service projects, and participation in regional, state, and national conferences.
