Nelson adds Deer Park duo to 2014 volleyball squad

PASADENA, Texas – San Jacinto College Volleyball Head Coach Sharon Nelson has announced the addition of Hannah Malley and Samantha McMahon of Deer Park (Deer Park HS) to the 2014 squad. Both student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to play college volleyball at San Jacinto College.

Malley, a 5-9 outside hitter / defensive specialist, was a first-team All-district 21-5A selection as a senior. During that season, she averaged 2.20 kills and 2.10 digs per set. McMahon, a 5-10 middle blocker / right side hitter, averaged 2.19 kills and 0.41 blocks per set. The duo helped Deer Park to a 30-10 overall record, a perfect 12-0 in district play.

San Jacinto College finished the 2013 regular season ranked 13th in the country with a 22-10 overall record, and five players earned All-conference honors.
