Softball opens home season as tournament hosts

HOUSTON – The San Jacinto College softball team will open its home season this weekend as host of the San Jac Tournament, Saturday, Feb. 15 through Sunday, Feb. 16.
San Jac welcomes three nationally ranked teams to the tournament, including the number one team in the country, Wallace State Community College. San Jacinto College (9-1) opens the tournament against 12th-ranked Iowa Western Community College on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wallace State will face Blinn College at 12 p.m. San Jac returns at 2 p.m. to face Wallace State, and Blinn will take on Iowa Western at 4 p.m. and Wallace State again at 6p.m.
Action on Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with San Jac facing Wallace State. At 12 p.m., Iowa Western will take on Wallace State, and host San Jacinto College will close out the tournament against Iowa Western at 2 p.m.
All games are played on the San Jacinto College South Campus softball field located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston and are free and open to the public. 12 p.m.- Wallace State vs.Blinn
2 p.m.- San Jacinto College vs. Wallace State
4 p.m.- Blinn vs. Iowa Western
6 p.m.- Blinn vs. Wallace State
Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014:
10 a.m.- San Jacinto College vs. Wallace State
12 p.m.- Iowa Western vs. Wallace State
2 p.m.- San Jacinto College vs. Iowa Western
