Meet the Faculty

Diane Cahill Bedford

Diane Cahill Bedford serves as Professor of Dance, Director of the Dance P.A.C., and advisor to the Dance Guild at San Jacinto College South. She holds an M.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography (2010) and a B.F.A. in Dance and English Literature, Magna Cum Laude (2003) from Florida State University. Her choreography has been presented by the WestFest Dance Festival in NYC, Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, Fieldworks, The Dance Gathering, and ACDFA. Additionally, she has choreographed for Fort Wayne Ballet, The Tallahassee Ballet, and the FSU Opera, Diane has performed with Jana Hicks Repertory in NYC, Dance Repertory Theatre, The Tallahassee Ballet, and at the American Dance Festival. She has also had the opportunity to perform in works choreographed by Jawole Zollar, Gerri Houlihan, Terry Creach, and Andy Noble to name a few. Diane previously taught dance and directed Outreach Programming for FSU, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Fort Wayne Ballet, New England Ballet Theatre, and Ithaca Ballet. Diane and her husband welcomed their first child in May 2013.

Brittany N. Thetford

Brittany N. Thetford is a recent recipient of an MFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University where she currently teaches as an adjunct professor in dance. Ms. Thetford is also currently performing with NobleMotion Dance (founding member 2009-2013), Rednerrus Feil Dance Company, Jamie Zahradnik (Hopeworks Residency), and Laura E. Harrell (Dance Gallery Festival). She has performed in various venues throughout the country including The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., the Ailey Citigroup Theater in New York City, Dance Houston’s 8th, 9th and 10th annual citywide dance festivals held at The Wortham Center and at theWeekend of Texas Contemporary in Dance at the Miller Outdoor Theater.

Jamie Zahradnik

Jamie Zahradnik earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance from Sam Houston State University in 2011. She is a certified Laban-Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA) through the Integrated Movement Studies Program under the directorship of Peggy Hackney and Janice Meaden.  She is also a certified Vbarre educator and teaches Vbarre conditioning classes to dance and movement professionals at Hope Stone, Inc. under the directorship of Jane Weiner.  She is a performer and rehearsal director for Rednerrus Feil Dance Company under the Artistic Directorship of Amy Llanes in Houston, TX.  Jamie is an Adjunct Faculty member at San Jacinto College in Houston, TX.

Stephanie J. Henderson

Stephanie J Henderson (PHED dance) received her Bachelor of Science in Fitness and Human Performance from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. For over 18 years, she taught all levels of ballet, tap, and jazz at Bonnie Siscoe School of Dance. Stephanie danced with the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company from 2000-2002 as an apprentice, where she studied under various choreographers such as Dorrell Martin, Kevin Wynn, Patti Obey, Liz Imperio, Randy Duncan, and Max Stone. She has performed at the “Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance” in Houston, performed with Exclamation Dance Company from 2003-2005 under the direction of Kenneth Epting, where she became Managing Director.  Stephanie performed at the “Selena Vive” concert in Houston in April 2005 for a live, televised, worldwide audience. She performed under the direction of Becky Valls in Memoirs of a Sistahood Chapter One at Diverse Works in Houston and in New Orleans. In October 2009, she performed Chapter Two at Barnevelder Movement Arts Complex.  Stephanie, and her oldest daughter Sonia, performed together in May 2011 for choreographer Toni Valle in Cocoon. Stephanie currently serves as adjunct faculty at San Jacinto College South. She married her dance partner, Thomas, in October of 2010 and they had their 1st child, Sienna, in September 2011 and their 2nd child, Joseph, in July 2013. Stephanie loves to share her passion of dance with all of her students.
