2005 at SJC: Came off the bench about midway through the season and sparked the team on both ends of the floor. For the season, Burch averaged 6.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game while gaining more ground on his teammates.

Gernander on Burch: “He was getting limited time last season, but we were struggling at the 3 and 4 spots and gave Shavar an opportunity. He took advantage of it. Shavar is a hard worker who has a motor that is going all the time. Whether he’s using his quickness against bigger defenders or using his height against smaller defender, Shavar has been able to produce.”
