2005 at SJC: Played sparingly while adjusting to the American style of play, but got a chance to contribute particularly later in the season.

Gernander on Moreira: “Luiz was one of the biggest surprises of the fall session for us. He has put on about 18 pounds, which has helped him down low around the basket. He’s obviously learned some things about the style of play here and as he gets better and better he will help us more. Luiz is a more physical type of player now, and I expect him to get some quality minutes for us.”
