#7 -Amber Benjamin
Sophomore
Middle Blocker
2005 at SJC: Amber delivered 139 kills and 45 total blocks to go with an attack percentage of .267 before having her season cut short due to an injury. She fell just shy in playing time of qualifying for all-region accolades. In the classroom, she began her studies toward a major in physical therapy.
For 2006: Back healthy and ready to play at a high level, Amber will prove to be a force on the front row while providing the great leadership of a sophomore who helped the team to the national tournament.
Nelson on Benjamin: “We anticipate great things from Amber after she played so well as a freshman prior to the injury. She aspires for fairness, is aggressive and has a lot of fire. She is a perfectionist, and allows that to drive her for constant improvement in herself and her teammates. Amber wants to transfer into a 4-year program to compete at the next level.”
