AAPC Professional Medical Coding Curriculum for CPC Certification

Prerequisites:  Successful completion of Medical Office Professional or prior medical office/coding experience.

The AAPC's Professional Medical Coding Curriculum is developed to present the latest information related to medical or insurance reimbursement.  You will learn the theory of coding, gain an understanding of the coding fundamentals and then incorporate this learning by using the lab book to work coding reports.  The CPC certification exam is included and will be administered the last class day.

This is a difficult course which requires a significant amount of time dedicated to study outside the class setting.  It is necessary that you understand the rigor of this course.  Your past knowledge of medical terminology, and Anatomy & Physiology is required to properly apply Billing and Coding information.  The standard San Jacinto College Policy does not allow refunds after the first class meeting.

Note:  Includes membership to AAPC, CPC exam fee, and lab books.  Students must supply Coding manuals.
