Publication Authorization

It is the responsibility of the Publications Director to determine that the content, design, purpose and printing format of college publications serve the goals and objectives of The San Jacinto College District. The Publications Director reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Marketing and Enrollment Management, who is ultimately responsible for college publications.

Departmental Production

Standard college publications that may be approved for departmental production include flyer, forms and brochures which are temporary innature, require fewer than 200 copies and can be reproduced on campus. Publications not approved for departmental production are marketing and recruitment brochures, pamphlets and posters. All college publications must conform to the District's standards of quality, accuracy and image.

Printing Services

Departmentally produced publications may be submitted to the Printing Director on hard copy for 1 color printing or photocopying.

    The SJC symbol logo is located on the home page. Contact the Marketing department for a current logo.To copy these versions to your hard drive,hold down the right mouse button, save image and save to a folder on your hard drive. Then open your Word document, go to insert then picture and select the logo file. If you need to size it, select  format picture and size.

Printing Copyrighted Materials

The San Jacinto College District will not knowingly publish or reprint previously copyrighted materials without written permission from the publisher, author or other party with a copyright interest. Before submitting questionable materials first consult the publisher or author listed in the published work. Requests for reprinting copyrighted materials in part or entirety must be submitted with a letter stating granted permission from the publisher, author or other party with a copyright interest. The letters of permission will remain on file in the Marketing and Enrollment Office.

Publication Request

Intercampus Mail: (traditional method)

  1. Complete a request for publications. The Print Shop (ext.1876) or the district office (ext.6150) will have a supply of this form.
  2. Complete this form in its entirety. Please state a date when needed - allow three weeks from the first Monday after the date of the request. Provide special instructions if necessary.
  3. Complete the form with all necessary signatures.
  4. Attach an example if available.
  5. If publication is available on a disk, send the disk via intercampus mail or e-mail as an attachment to the Publications Office at grafix@sjcd.edu. Microsoft Word files are preferred but can convert WordPerfect files
  6. Send completed form with attachments via intercampus mail to the Marketing and Enrollment Department at the District Office.

Online:

  1. Submit a request for publications online at http://www2.sjcd.edu/prs.
  2. Complete the instruction section in its entirety. Please state a date when needed. Allow three weeks from the first Monday after the date of the request. Provide special instructions if necessary.
  3. Requests must have the approval of director, administrator or associate dean.
  4. Send examples via intercampus mail referring to the online request. 5) If publication is available on a disk, send the disk via intercampus mail or e-mail as an attachment to the Publications Office at grafix@sjcd.edu. Microsoft Word files are preferred but can convert WordPerfect files
