General Educational Development (GED)

Your next step – college.

If you’ve earned your GED, congratulations. That’s a big accomplishment. Now we’re ready to get you in here and working toward your next goals. If you need to take the GED, we’re here for you too, with preparatory classes and testing services on all campuses.

So what qualifies as passing? If you took the GED exam after January 1, 2002, and scored at least 410 on each of the five tests, and an average score of 450 (or a total of 2,250 points) you are eligible for admission, as long as you meet the High School Graduate admission requirements.

Prior to 2002, the scoring system was a little different. If you took the GED back then, you need a minimum 40 on each test, and an average of 45 (or 225 total) to be eligible for admission.

By the way, if you have taken the GED exam but have not passed all parts, you may be eligible for admission by special approval.
