6-6 Class Schedule Numbering
Each class is given a seven-digit number: a four-digit course number and a three-digit section number.
The first digit of the course number indicates the level of the course, 1 indicating a freshman course and 2 indicating a sophomore course. The second digit indicates the credit in semester hours. The third and fourth digits indicate the sequence of a course in a group of similar courses. For example: English 1302 is a three-hour freshman course normally taken as the second of the series of freshman writing courses.
The last three numbers in the seven-digit number refer to a specific class section of a course. These three numbers indicate the day and time the class meets. Sections are coded as follows:
