Priority Processing Consideration
If you wish to receive priority consideration, you should apply as soon as the FAFSA is available, usually January 1. First consideration will be given to students whose file is completed by the last working day of March. Any application completed after the last working day of July for Fall; October for Spring; or April for Summer may not be processed prior to the start of the term. If you are interested in a student loan, please check the SJC Electronic Loan Process portion of the SOS web site for priority processing dates. You must apply for financial aid each year.
An application is considered complete when all documents needed by the SJC Financial Aid Services Office and Enrollment Services Office are on file; the student and/or spouse/parent, if applicable, have provided complete and correct data and the file has been reviewed.
Awarding of aid for the Fall term begins on April 1. Awarding is done in batch process, with students demonstrating the highest need within the batch receiving first consideration, subject to the availability of funds.
