#25 Monica Perkins-Miller

2005 at SJC: Monica started 10 games as a freshman, averaging 12.8 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. When she broke into the lineup, she showed the ability to dominate the backboards on both ends of the floor. From the free throw line, Monica made just over 52 percent.

Prior to SJC: As a senior at Alief Hastings High School, Monica was named the co-most valuable player of her district. A second team all-region player, Monica was honored as one of the top performers in the Houston area. She also won a player of the year award in high school varsity volleyball.

About Monica: A kinesiology major, Monica hopes to transfer to Sam Houston State University while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. She is the daughter of Carolyn Fortney.

Silman on Perkins-Miller: “Monica has the ability to be a special player. She has the world in front of her athletically and has the ability to accomplish a lot of things in her life on and off the court. Last season she dominated the glass in becoming a solid player.”
