Occupational Health & Safety Technology

For companies today, it is not enough to strive for safety. Most have formed formal divisions and put procedures in place to ensure their employees well-being. Safety assurance has become a big business unto itself, creating great demand for certified specialists. Becoming an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist is a rigorous, regulated process that offers high rewards. Our program is designed to help obtain the OHST title. Here you will learn all of the details and procedures that comprise the primary pillars of workplace safety – anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control. This degree can also propel you into a variety of university programs where you can study to become a safety and environmental specialist, safety engineer, industrial hygienist, risk management specialist, health physicist, occupational physician, or occupational health nurse.

All first time or returning OHST students (a returning student is one who has sat out a semester) will need to attend an orientation session in order to be approved to register for OSHT or EPCT classes (there will be no exceptions).

The OHST Program will conduct orientations according to the following schedule.   These sessions are for approval to register for the Spring 2014 semester
