New Installment Payment Plan FAQ's
What is the Student Account Suite (SAS)?
SAS is the new payment plan program that will be offered to San Jacinto College students beginning with the Spring 2008 semester. This new program will replace the system that is currently in use through Banner. Once you log into SOS you will be able to access your account and set up billing options. The new payment plan option for academic / credit students allows four (4) installments as opposed to the previous plan which only offered three (3). The plan for Continuing & Professional Development (CPD) students is based on the length of the course(s) you are taking.
When are my payments due and how much will I owe?
Whether you are an academic / credit student or enrolled in CPD, you are still required to pay an initial down payment. In addition, there is a $25 set-up fee for all students, which will be prorated among all the payments. The payment plan is as follows:
For academic / credit students: With the new SAS plan, your initial down payment is reduced from 50% to 25% of total Tuition and Fees. This will allow more money for you to spend on books and other necessary supplies. The remaining three (3) payments of 25% each will be due on February 15th, March 14th and April 4th. The WEB will be available until midnight or the Campus Business Offices will be open until 4:30 p.m. on each of these days.
For CPD students: CPD has two plans. For each plan the initial down payment is 50%. If you are enrolled in a 4-7 week class you will select a two payment plan with the remaining 50% due within 30 days. If you are enrolled in an 8-16 week class you will select a three payment plan with 25% due within 30 days after the set-up date, and the remaining 25% due 60 days after the set-up date. The CPD plans do not have fixed dates but are subject to the set up dates by the individual student.
What dates will the plans be available?
The academic / credit plan will be open for activity from December 03, 2007 through February 08, 2007. No new plans or changes will be allowed after this date for the Spring term. CPD will have rolling dates for their enrollment quarters.

Can I make any changes to the plan?
Yes, one of the new features is that during anytime that the plan is available any changes in your enrollment or financial aid will affect the remaining payments on the plan. Examples include: if you add or drop classes then the future amounts due will be recalculated as either an increase or decrease; if your financial aid is increased or rescinded then your future payments will either decrease or increase. Although initiation or changes for the academic / credit plan can be made through February 08, 2007 the remaining payment dates will still be in effect.
If I pay off my plan or my plan is paid in full once Financial Aid is disbursed and then I incur new charges by adding a class for a later Part of Term will the plan recalculate this change?
No, once a plan is paid in full you will not be able to create any changes to the plan. Any new charges will be due at the time of registration. You will be able to make any changes through February 08, 2007 for the academic / credit plan.
How will I know when a payment is due?
SAS will send a notification e-mail to your San Jacinto College student e-mail address alerting you that a payment is due. Information regarding the SJC student email is available on http://www.sanjac.edu/. This email will be from the College Bursar and you will be able to reply if you have any questions. SAS will automatically recalculate your balance and update your account as payments are received so that your account information is up-to-date each time you login. Authorized scholarship and financial aid payments will be applied to your total charges. Authorized Financial Aid will be applied against the total amount due which will proportionally reduce the initial and future installment amounts. Third Party Billings and Exemptions will be applied against the initial amount due and if funds are still available then any future installment amounts will be reduced.
How can I pay my bill?
After you elect to use the SAS plan in SOS, you can then pay by credit card or through your bank account. All information entered is secure. Once you enter a payment type, you will not be required to re-enter that information. SAS will automatically withdraw the funds through your authorized method of payment. If you are late in paying your bill, an automatic fee of $25 will be added to your account.
Can anyone else access my account?
Once you have accessed SAS you will be allowed to enter authorized users such as your parent or guardian. The authorized user will be emailed a link to SAS along with their password. This allows the authorized users to have access to your account activity and make payments. This access is controlled by you, the student. The authorized users will not have access to SOS.
What is required to set up a payment plan?
You must have a student ID and PIN number to login to the SOS system. You must complete your registration process prior to selecting a plan. You must have a valid credit card, checking or savings account to make payments.
Can I access the plan at the Campus Business Offices?
Yes, the Cashiers will be able to enroll you in a payment plan. However, the benefit of creating your plan via the WEB is a reduction in any wait in the line at the Campus Business Offices.
Who do I contact if I have a question?
If you have a question about the new payment plan system, please contact the SJC Call Center at 281.998.6150 and ask to be directed to a Campus Business Office.
