Parker, a 5-7 setter, led the Dobie Longhorns with 845 assists last season. She was also third on the team with 47 service aces, and second with 402 digs. The team finished with an overall record of 19-9, 9-5 in district play, and were bi-district finalists.

“Abbey has shown great consistency during the recruiting process,” said SJC head coach Sharon Nelson. “Setting for her club team, South Shore, she has displayed an ability to create an offense and make solid setting choices under pressure. She has had good poise on the court, and is a great leader for her team. She is mentally strong as well, and will be a great asset for our team next year.”

In its third-straight trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) national tournament, San Jacinto finished the 2007 season sixth in the nation with a record of 30-13, including a perfect 12-0 in conference play.
