After a heavy hitting first inning in which San Jacinto College scored four runs, SJC head coach Kelly Saenz gathered her team to settle them down and remind them they still had six innings to play. |
It didn’t take long for San Jac to ignite their bats, scoring four runs in the first inning. San Jac would score again in the top of the fourth inning putting them up 5-0. Blinn tried to close the gap in the bottom of the fourth scoring two runs, but it wasn’t enough for the excellent pitching Kelsey McClain (Pasadena, Texas / Memorial High School) has been producing for the entire tournament. This was the third-straight game McClain pitched for San Jac.
San Jac will play in the championship game at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, at Hohlt Park in Brenham, Texas. For a complete Region XIV softball tournament bracket and updates, please visit http://www.blinn.edu/Buccaneer/region14_softball.htm.
